JASON! Well said! Just did a podcast with a Dentist (Dr Jaren Argyle, The Elevated Dentist) who sees SO many people (Dentists) drowning with issues of external validation and internal chaos/ no peace. Look around your average dental/professional conference... Drinking...Affairs...pick your "dopamine addiction" poison. Where is the "rock bottom"? Until the person stops blaming everyone else for their ruined reputation, family life, relationships...the spiral continues...or worse...life altering/ending decisions are made. Thanks for always being so straight forward and vulnerable with your writings. You might be one of the ONLY voices of clarity for someone, Jason.
Yep.....100% true. I have definitely enjoyed the beverages over the years plenty of times at a dental of conference. Thankfully, no mistakes were made. I guess with my progress in years, I have started to see the need to cut back.....not just at conferences but also at home. That being said, it does help with my stress level when I have an IPA on the porch after work. It also helps if I work out after work and don't need the beverage. 👊
Whatever works for you, my man. And look, not everyone that drinks alcohol has a drinking problem. I hope I didn't unintentionally make that assertion. Keep running, my friend.
The journey of 1,000 miles begins with the first step......and can be completed by taking the next step and the next, one step at a time.... one day at a time. At the end of that journey you'll find the peace and love to keep you moving forward.
Appreciate you Jason....keep that writing thing going, you're pretty good at that :-)
If you consider that dental meetings are sometimes the few times you can be away from work and family commitments and take a breath. This is no excuse but and open invitation to let it out a little. Moderation is the word.
The ADA in New Orleans years ago was a good example. The following week I gave out beads to the surprise of some office ladies who had a little too much fun.
this is so true....I am surprised the 15% is actually that low....when I go to evening CE events in my area, the bar seems to be the place to be rather than the adjacent banquet hall. It's a big issue that's never talked about. Thanks for the great read, Jason!
Appreciate YOU Brother and THIS 💪🏻
Thanks for reading.
